Jazz is a dance form with a wide appeal because of its energy, variety, and vitality.

Jazz classes explore contemporary and classic jazz dance that draws inspiration from a wide range of music including jazz, swing, musical theater/ Broadway, blues, pop, soul and funk.

Our jazz program is based on ballet technique and is layered with a warm-up to develop strength, flexibility, correct alignment, and coordination; followed by progressions across the floor; and culminates in extended dance combinations. The movement explores the range of styles with a focus on jazz elements such as isolations, swing, and rhythm. The goal is to develop dancers who are expressive, dynamic, musical and passionate.

As students progress through each level, the curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.

Lyrical dance is a style that combines ballet and jazz dancing techniques.

It is performed to music with lyrics to inspire movement and emotional expression that corresponds with the song.

Our studio recommends that all lyrical dancers also attend a weekly ballet class to progress appropriate techniques.
