Tia Brown Rosenblum

Co-Owner; Co-Artistic Director

Tia is a nationally recognized dance educator, award-winning team director, and accomplished choreographer with over 31 years of teaching experience. She has trained dancers in elite ballet and competition programs in Florida and Alabama, and now pre-professional programs on the Monterey Peninsula. Her expertise includes curriculum development, ballet, jazz, and lyrical/contemporary technique, pre-professional training pathways, and Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) solo and ensemble coaching.

Throughout her career, Tia has guided students who have gone on to train with and be accepted into prestigious programs and companies including San Francisco Ballet, Royal Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, American Ballet Theatre- NYC, Joffrey Ballet- Chicago, Ellison Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, Ballet Chicago, LINES Pre-Professional Training Program, Harid Conservatory, Ballet West, Sarasota Ballet, School of American Ballet, University of Arizona Dept of Dance, University of Indiana- Bloomintoday Dept of Dance, New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

While passionate about developing pre-professional dancers, Tia is equally committed to inspiring recreational students, believing every child deserves a fun, nurturing, and structured environment in which to grow and thrive.

​

Her training in ballet, pointe, and partnering includes study with internationally respected artists and educators such as Fiona Fairre (Royal Ballet), Shamil Yagudin (Ballet Stars of Moscow), Samuel Abramian (Bolshoi Ballet), Todd Eric Allen (Boston Ballet), Bruce Marks (American Ballet Theatre/Ballet West/Boston Ballet), and Kathy Kozul (Walnut Hill School for the Arts).

Under Tia's direction, competition teams have earned consecutive regional titles, and her choreography has received numerous top honors at regional and national competitions. She has served as Artistic Director for local pre-professional companies, directed an eleven-day dance tour through China with twenty-one dancers, and currently serves as Artistic Director of Monterey Peninsula Ballet Theatre, a nonprofit dedicated to arts education and outreach throughout the Monterey Peninsula.

After relocating to the Monterey Peninsula in 2004, Tia continued her passion for both dance and medicine. Her fifteen years as a medical administrator and director have provided extensive experience in business development, operations, and organizational leadership for startups, non-profit organizations, and other established organizations.

​

Tia lives on the Monterey Peninsula with her husband, local ophthalmologist Dr. Leland Rosenblum, their family, and their dogs.
