Musical Theater Showcases (PG Middle School) Grades Kinder and above
Musical Theater Program
TDC musical theater students will develop a performing skill repertoire while learning a variety of musical theater showcase numbers from popular Broadway shows.
Class time consists of learning dance routines, vocal music, and honing performance techniques. Emphasis is placed on vocal clarity and projection, eye contact, facial expression, body awareness, and physical confidence; all skills that will help students whether they end up on Broadway or in the boardroom.
Students of all skill levels are welcome and will be encouraged to grow and develop at their own pace in a positive, encouraging and non-competitive environment, where students can come and have a fabulous time “putting on a show.”
The students in these classes will be strongly encouraged to participate in both the Winter and Spring Dance Center Shows where the numbers and skills they have learned will be showcased.

What is Musical Theater Performance?
Description of Musical Theater Performance (MTP) Grades Preschool-12th:
Our Musical Theater Performance studies acting, vocal, dance, and performance skills (levels preschool-GR.12). Classes (1st-12th) will perform around the peninsula throughout the season (frequency based on age).
Our GR. 6-12 are musical theater companies (GR. 6th-7th, 8th-9th, and 10th-12th). They will prepare different medley numbers to perform in places such as county fairs, Monterey Wharf, Del Monte Shopping Center, local tree lightings, assisted living, and more! This program has a Winter and a Spring showcase (1st-12th at PG Middle school/ Preschool & Kinder at TDC-BTS Theater).
Our GR. 6th-7th and our 8th-9th (non international) musical theater students will have the opportunity to travel to Disneyland to perform in the spring through an affiliated local nonprofit, Monterey Peninsula Musical Theater (MPMT). https://www.mpmusicaltheater.org
Our GR. 9-12th grade students will have the opportunity to travel internationally to perform in the spring/summer through an affiliated nonprofit, Monterey Peninsula Musical Theater (MPMT).
