We are saddened to announce the closing of Carmel Academy of Performing Arts (CAPA). With 65 years in the Carmel Community, we wish nothing but happiness and peace to Carol Richmond on her new journey.
CAPA and The Dance Center have been working together to provide a healthy and safe home for CAPA’s students and we are so excited to welcome them to our family.
We recognize that this is an unknown and trying time for your dancers and family. We want to extend our love and compassion; we will be here to support you unconditionally.
We are confident that your students will feel at home at TDC and hope that you will as well.
TDC staff is here for you with any questions, or concerns and hope to make this transition as seamless as possible. We are also so excited to announce that CAPA’s Studio Manager, Nicole Costa, will be joining our TDC family as our Administrative Assistant to our Studio Manager Bethany Ambrosia. Both Nicole and Bethany are here to support you with this transition.
TDC Summer 4-week in-person class session is beginning July 6th and will be running through August 1st. This schedule includes Preschool through Advanced levels (Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Musical Theater, Acrobatics, Tap, PBT-Progressing Ballet Technique). We also have ongoing in-person camps for ages Kinder through Advanced levels, as well as our Musical Theater programs. We do offer Virtual options for all of our camps and classes, if you prefer.
As part of our transition plan, co-owners Tia and Laura have extended Competition Auditions for the upcoming season to all Team CAPA Competitive Dancers. The Dance Center is accepting audition requests for team placements, solos, duos, trios, and small groups immediately. We are holding our 2020-2021 team releases to accommodate incoming CAPA competitive dancers. Please respond by this weekend if you are interested in being considered for team (Ballet, Jazz/Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Acrobatics, and/or Tap). CAPA has worked with Studio Director to transition your online portals to our TDC system; you will only need to update your password to access your family and student portals.
